Please be careful.

The minor illness of a major star covers almost half the news everywhere! It was flash news first, then speculation, then hype, and still is, when the man himself rightly said there are more critical issues the media should be concentrating on.

On the other hand, there was a man who did his duty, and was murdered for it, and it appeared on the back pages. As a person who surfs the net a lot for news, I find the second story passed on mainly through conscientious bloggers and sympathetic/empathetic/with-a-lot-of-free-time forwarders. Damn anyone from now on who says Indian youth does not care for the public sector and whoever earns a good degree puts his education to use abroad for the betterment of other countries. Damn the people who say it, seriously. In a country where doing the job for a PSU in all righteousness and earnestness can get a person killed, I am seriously better off slogging my a$$ off abroad. Atleast, I get to save my a$$!!!!!

All the IT hype and India going places look like cheap propaganda to me now. Websites that put on their main page, ways to seduce a man for a good night's time, places where crime is culture, places that have made traffic rules and safety of lives a huge farce, and the list goes on...damn. Make no mistake, I am not a pessimist, nor do I dislike my homeland. But I am just unable to stand the atrocities that have become daily affairs. I am trying to make my bit of difference, but damn again, one just cannot pull out and stand up these days. Rarity in this country is the best path towards ruin! The major part of the country's youth is drooling over the next Indian Idol, when there are people murdered ruthlessly near their homes!

Like my friend and I were discussing, it is not long before our generation takes hold of the country and with so much awareness amongst us, we could make a huge difference. For one, the major part of our generation should be able to put a stop to corruption. But in the same lines, the way most of the media is diverting the country's attention, it seems a loooooooooong hurdle to pass. Please hold some responsibility journalists and people. Its not just the news that sells, its the news that tells on people. So please be careful.
