In Dependence!

Lets talk about Independence day.

I had a pretty decent day. No bomb blasts, no panic, no traffic issues.

But all that, thanks to the extensive security measures taken. Every brick on every building was searched and OKed. Ironic is it not, we were to celebrate Independence Day, the day we became free from all external threats and vowed to live a peaceful life and now, we take all measures to save ourselves from our own people! Shame. I guess every state's government dreads days like yesterday, January 26th (for the uninitiated and the inebriated, it is our Republic Day), October 2nd et al. These days, these dates are marked as days that need high security when we should be celebrating the events that abolished all the threats. Shame Shame.
And elsewhere, like in Kashmir, people were not as lucky as I was.

And yeah, Independence Day and ironically again, yesterday was the day when there was no electricity for most part of the day! Infrastructure!

I am not blaming the country or the government mind you. We are much better off today than any of the previous years. But ironies were just too blatant to be missed. So pardon my sarcasm.

Lets leave that now. The day has gone by. Lets hope Gandhi Jayanthi is safer.

As you people must be knowing, I am blogging from my new office today. Its much to my liking, except stuff here and there, which I can manage with. My cubicle is as cool as it was earlier and the view through the window at the end of the next cubicle is cooler. The place is well lit and bright. Now comes the loveliest part - the pantry is hardly 6 meters from my place :))

There is one thing that sorta disturbs me :) As soon as you enter this building, you'd see a sign board, staring at you.

Now, is the parking disabled? Or is it Parking 'for' the disabled? I'm going to smile everytime I see it. The first thing I saw while entering this building and it had to be this. Irony!
