I got a breather.
Interesting news today. Had a flat tyre this morning. I know what you people are thinking. Even I see the sudden deluge of mishaps with my bike.
After work this morning, that is around 2.30 am, I felt by bike floundering on the way back. I had a hunch that the rear wheel would be flat by morning. And I was proven right, much to my disappointment though. Had to huff and puff to get the vehicle up a ramp outside our apartment's parking lot. Good excercise though.
This isnt the first time my bike had a flat tyre. Its the second.
The first time was interesting. It was around 12.30 am and I was riding back towards home. It was the last corner before my apartment's lane, and I heard this "boom". I didnt give any damn to it, I was too sleepy to investigate. I almost thought it was my head exploding after a strenuous day, and that wasnt going to surprise me anyways. So I just took it lightly. Next morning I find a huge nail right across the tube. Took my bike to a mechanic's. And after 20 minutes of investigation, he found all of 9 punctures, because of that single nail, arranged very systematically...I hunched it represented some constellation. Seemed like the nail caused too much disturbance in tyre pressure. And at the end of it all, I had to change the tube, because the mechanic was under the opinion that nine is a bad number, and I was thinking I still had 4 more to reach a dreaded number. I got a new tube fitted and thats the one that was patched today. Fortunately for me, only one chink today. Got to see if there was anything unnoticed, only by evening when I'll be heading out from office. Yes, today I plan to leave early.
I still have that nail with me. The nail that caused a tube change the first time my bike got punctured. A 3-inch nail it is, I guess.
I was browsing through news in the breather that I got now.
