There are a lots of things happening here though.
There is the FA Cup Final at the New Wembley tomorrow. Which I plan to catch up on TV.
I have seen the new Wembley, and honestly that is the first football stadium I have seen personally. It looks astounding, but I have nothing to compare it against since I havent seen any at such close range. People say it is one of the best in the world.
We have the test match going on, England Vs WI, at Lords. Thats a place I have reserved to see during my second trip. And the Oval too.
Speaking of games and sports venues, I have been to Wimbledon too. There is the finals scheduled in July, I am going to try get some tickets. When I visited the place last month, I couldnt go inside to see the courts since renovation work was going on.
Most of us know how it looks inside, some glimpes of the route to the center court:
Seems this road will have a queue going all the way down, kilometers infact, when people crowd to get tickets. And that is for whatever little percentage left after online and tele and other forms of booking! Sorta dents my hope to catch the finals live. Whats worse, it could turn out that no tickets are available, and no place to see the match on the giant screens outside, and by the time I get back home to catch it on TV, the match is over. Thats the worst that could happen, but I aim atleast for the giant screen.
Should visit the museum the next time I go there.
Caught the London marathon live on TV. Timely actually, to inspire me in the most effective way:) Had been along the marathon course the day before, ofcourse walking.
So lots of sports related stuff have happened here.
Reminds me of the only international cricket match I have been to, in Hyderabad, India Vs New Zealand, in 2003. India beat NZ hands down, and it was a treat to watch. The most interesting thing ofcourse, is that my wife presently and a "friend" then, was in the opposite stands watching the match. A pleasant coincidence we shared later :D
